Everett E. Parker
SALEM - Everett E. Parker, 72, Salem, died Thursday May 16, at the Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant.
He was born at Hillsboro Dec. 17, 1912, to Carl and Lola Logan Parker. He married Vera Harter on Dec. 23, 1936, at Fairfield. He farmed south of Hillsboro from 1948 until 1977 when he retired to Salem.
He was a member of the former Salem Methodist church and the Belmont Lodge 541 OES, Hillsboro.
Surviving: His wife; a son, Carl, Hillsboro; six daughters, Mrs. Donna Upton and Mrs. Susie Kuhens, both of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Dorothea Cochran, Argyle, Mrs. Doris Onorato, Virginia Beach, Va., Mrs. Carol McGinnis, Dallas City, Ill., and Mrs. Cindy Rohdy, Farmington; 16 grandchildren, seven stepchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Delbert, Trenton, and Russell, Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Salem Congregational Church, the Rev. Kenneth Hardin; Forest Home Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday by OES Lodge 541 at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established for the Salem Congregational Church.
