GILBERT McCLAREN

Gilbert Mcclaren was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, July 5, 1880, and passed away at the hospital at Mt. Pleasant Sept. 8, 1940, aged 60 years, 2 months and 3 days.

He was married to Miss Lillian Logsdon in Mt. Pleasant April 20, 1904, and they moved to Fairfield that year and have since made that place their home until two years ago last March, when they came to Birmingham. He had been in ill health for the past three years, and seriously ill for the last last month. They have no children. He was a meat cutter by trade, at which he worked while living in Fairfield. He was a member of Jefferson Lodge No. 4, I.O.O.F. at Fairfield.

He is survived by his wife, three brothers, Pearl and William of Mt. Pleasant, and Elmer of Fairfield. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Catcott funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H.C. Irvine. Burial in Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.
