MR. A.E. HANSHAW.

Ernest Adell Hanshaw was born near Douds, Iowa, Jan. 2, 1871, and died at his home near Drakesville, Iowa, Sept. 16th, 1912, aged 41 years, 2 months and 14 days. He spent his boyhood and early manhood in the vicinity of Douds, and on Jany. 22nd, 1891, was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Pickett. To this union were born four children, Lester Adell, Agnes K., Lyle Carl and Ellen, Iris, the latter dying three years ago. He leaves a wife, three children, mother, three sisters, Mrs. Laura Vaught of Grand Junction, Col, Mrs. Bertha Findlay of Selma, Io., and Mrs. Fanny Anderson, of Birmingham, Iowa, four nephews, three nieces and other relatives in the vicinity of Douds, besides a host of friends both at Douds and Drakeville. He united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Drakeville, in Feb., 1911 of which he was a faithful member until his death. He was sick for nearly a year and a half and was a patient sufferer. He on several occasions expressed to his pastor his faith in God, saying, "I would not exchange my hope of eternal life for all the gold in the Klondike." The funeral services were held at the Drakeville M.E. church, conducted by the Rev. C.C. Jones. Interment was in the Drakeville cemetery.
