Melinda Jane McCracken, 65, of rural Bonaparte, IA, passed away March 6, 2017, at her home.

Born August 29, 1951, in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Don, Sr. and Shirley (Johnson) Inghram. On August 25, 1984, she married Branch McCracken in rural Bonaparte, IA.

Survivors include her husband Branch; four daughters, Shelly (Ethan) Marbery of Bonaparte, IA, Jennifer (Todd) Hoskin of Farmington, IA, Casey (Darin) Breitenstein of Farmington, IA, and Fallon (Kevin) Link of Bloomfield, IA; eight grandchildren, Aletha Lunsford, Alexis and Augustus Overstreet, Adrian and Sara Breitenstein, and Nivek and Nevaeh Link; one sister, Cindy Troute of Burlington, IA; one brother, Don Inghram, Jr. of Spring Hill, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Cyrus Steven Folker; and one sister, Paulette Durfee.

Melinda previously worked for Riders Nursery, Riverside Plastics, was the owner and operator of Lindy's Bar & Grill, and she currently worked for Township Grocery. She enjoyed caring for animals, shopping with her girls, working in her flower beds, and family gatherings.

Her body has been entrusted to Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.

Friends may call after 12:00 noon, Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington where the family will meet with friends from 4:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 10, 2017, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington with Pastor Michael Elrod officiating.

The Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington is assisting the family with the arrangements.
