MRS. HANNAH DELANEY

Hannah Pender, daughter of Richard and Maria Pender, was born near Keosauqua, Iowa, Dec. 28, 1849, and passed away at her home in Bonaparte, Iowa, Sept. 2, 1920, at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 4 days.

On Oct. 22, 1883, she was united in marriage to Mr. Lewis Payne, with whom she lived for nearly 11 years, he being called to his reward in February, 1894. After nine years of widowhood she was married to Robert Delaney, who passed away August 7, 1911. During most of her married life she lived in or near Cantril, Iowa. After the death of Mr. Delaney, she made her home with her brother, Thos. Pender, in Bonaparte, until he was called home August 14, 1918. Since that time she had lived alone in the home whence she was called.

In her early womanhood Mrs. Delaney professed faith in the Redeemed, and at her death was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Ellsworth Pender of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Oletha Beucler, of Denver, Colo.; Captain Chas. Payne, of San Diego, Calif., William H. Delaney, of Centralia, Mo., and Albert Delaney of Cantril, Iowa, all of whom she loved as her own. She also leaves a number of nephews and nieces who were very dear to her.

She was a woman of splendid character, and had many friends wherever she lived.

Funeral services were held at the home at [punched hole in way] o'clock Saturday afternoon, Se[punched hole in way] with Rev. J. S. Coppoc in charge. The remains were laid to rest in the Fellows cemetery near Keosauqua.
