MRS. JOHN A. WILSON

Iris Kerr James, daughter of (Chas. A.) and Lillian James, was born at ??roy, Ill., Dec. 19, 1876. At the age of 13, she with her family moved to Colfax, Ill., where she attended school and grew to young womanhood.

Only July 19, 1896, she was united in marriage with John A. Wilson. To this union were born five children, Florence Margaret Huff of Keosauqua; Blanche Louise and Charles Edmund at home; Clarence Edgar and Frances Vivian preceeded her in death, Clarence at the age of eight days and Vivian at the age of three years. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her death, her father, Chas. W. James, who was living with her at the time of her death; one brother, Roy James of Bloomington, Ill.; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Blanche Paxton of Gibson City, Ill., and Mrs. Leura Brown of Fullerton, Nebr.; also 2 grandchildren.

Besides these are number of other relatives and many friends, both in Illinois, where she lived so many years, and in Iowa where she soon acquired new friends.

She with her husband began their united lives on a farm south of Colfax and lived on several different places around Colfax until fourteen years ago when they moved to Bonaparte, Iowa. They resided there for ten years and then moved to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, where she departed this life on Wednesday morning, Oct. 15, 1924, at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 26 days.

In early girlhood she united with the M.E. church of which she soon became a part, always active in Epworth League and Sunday School work, being a class teacher from the age of fifteen until her health began to fail. She loved the church and her God in whom she always kept her faith even to her last conscious moment. She was not afraid to die for she was ready for her beautiful reward. No mother and wife deserves more praise for all she has done. She might have done more if more physically fit.

The last three years she has been ailing, a little over a year ago, she almost lost but regained somewhat until about a month ago she began going down again and passed away easily at the last. Her own family and father were with her to the last. All was done that human hands could do. She has gone to receive her reward.

Funeral arrangements were as follows: Services Thursday afternoon in the M.E. church at Mt. Pleasant.
