Minor J. Bennett

Minor J. Bennett, age 80, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 964, at the Scott County Hospital. He was born April 21, 1884, at Bonaparte, Iowa. On Dec. 27, 1905, he was united in marriage to Elsie Catherine Schrepfer. They came to Scott County March 24, 1928, making their home on a farm in the Shallow Water Community. Mrs. Bennett passed away Jan. 7, 1952. Mr. Bennett was engaged in farming all of his life.

He is survived by five sons and four daughters: George J., Raymond O., Walter S., all of Scott City, Kansas; Wilbert L., Lamar, Colorado; N. Sylvester of Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Otto Geeseka and Mrs. Earl Weisenberger of Scott City, Kansas; Mrs. Otto Woodrick, Burlington, Colorado; Mrs. Ross Reid, Toledo, Orogon(Oregon). There are 30 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were from the First Christian Church, Scott City, Kansas, Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 2:30 p.m., in charge of the Rev. J. Allen Wheeler, with interment in the Scott County Cemetery.
