Ralph Whisler

BATAVIA - Ralph E. Whisler, 71, died at 8 a.m. today, Nov. 17, in Nelson Nursing Home, Fairfield.

He was born Oct. 24, 1910, in Brighton to Thomas and Carie Baumgardner Whisler. He lived in the Batavia community most of his life, where he was associated with Isenhart Seed Corn Co. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles No. 114, both of Ottumwa. He served with the U.S. Navy and married Edith Peebler Aug. 7, 1941.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Campbell Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial: Batavia Cemetery.
