Ivyl C. Logan

Ivly Cleon Logan was born October 5, 19070 on a farm near Salem, Iowa, the son of Harris Logan and the late Rebecca Logan and passed away April 23, 1947 in Farmington, Iowa, at the age of 39 years, 6 months and 18 days. He grew to manhood in the vicinity where he was born.

He married Hilda Elder, of Primrose, who survives with two children, Griselda, 11 and Sheryl, 2. Other survivors are his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Harris Logan and brother, William Logan of Salem, Iowa; two sisters, Lona Dinsmore of near Hillsboro, Iowa, and Nina Fetters of Milton, Iowa. His mother, Rebecca Logan passed away several years ago. One sister, Lela and one infant brother also preceded him in death. He also leaves his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elder of Donnellson, brothers-in-law Albert Elder of Donnellson and Clyde Elder of Lima, Ill.

Ivyl was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, and the Chapter Royal Arch Mason. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was a director on the school board. He was active and interested in all civic matters and gave his time and support to all worthy projects.

Mr. Logan and his family moved from LaHarpe, Ill., to Farmington several years ago where he owned and operated a Gamble store. He started a small store in the Price building and moving his stock there, adding to it until had had one of the best stores of its kinds in this part of the state. He had also recently purchased a store at Kahoka, Mo.

Funeral services were held from the Sharon Presbyterian Church Friday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. O.T. Wilson of Mt. Pleasant officiating. Masonic services were held at the grave. Interment in the Sharon Cemetery.
