Mrs. George Hogue

Mrs. Virginia Hogue, 65, Bonaparte rural, died Sunday, Feb. 17 at 4:20 a.m. in the Van Buren Memorial hospital at Keosauqua, after an illness of about six months.

She was born n Henderson county, Ill., Aug. 27, 1897, the daughter of David and Mary Bowan Logan. She was married to George W. Hogue, Oct. 29, 1913, at Farmington. She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic church, and past president of the Bonaparte Legion auxiliary.

She had lived near Bonaparte since 1943, and all her married life in Van Buren county.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, Paul, Geneseo, Ill.; Thaine, Ft. Dodge; Richard, Oakfield, N.Y.; Glen, Iowa City; and Harold, East Moline, Ill.; a brother, Glen Logan, Thermopolis, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret McCullough, Shelton, Wash. and Mrs. Paul Celania, Keokuk; and 20 grandchildren.

A son, two brothers and a sister are dead.

Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. in the St. Boniface Catholic church, with Father Anthony Geerts officiating. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery.
