George Alden

George S. Alden of Bonaparte, Ia., who had made his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. And Mrs. Jack Thomas of 526 Rosedale, Jacksonville, Ill., for the past three years, passed away at the Thomas home Saturday, May 22 after an extended illness.

He was born near Bushnell, Ill. Sept. 21, 1873. His parents were Charles S. And Mary Louise Alden. He was married at Mederville, Ia., Nov. 5, 1902 to the former Marie Wacker; who died in 1963.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lucile Thomas of Jacksonville, Ill.; a granddaughter, Diane, wife of Lawrence Larson of Palatine; one brother, C. R. Alden of Chicago and a sister, Mrs. V. C. Baughman of Plymouth. 

Two brother and one sister preceded him in death.

A retired farmer, Mr. Alden was a member of the Bonaparte Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 24 at the Martine Funeral Home, Bushnell. Burial was in Bushnell Township cemetery.
