-Mrs. John Caruthers of Pittsburg died Thursday morning, the 4th inst., and was burried(sp) Friday, Rev. Krenmyer of Mt. Zion conducting the services. Mrs. Caruthers' death was very sudden. She was taken ill about 2 o'clock Wednesday morning, having a hard chill, and died about the same hour Thursday morning. Mrs. Caruthers was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom are living, six sons and a daughter. Mr. Caruthers was among the earliest of settlers of the county, his parents coming here, if we are not mistaken, in about 1837 or 1838. His father was a soldier in the Mexican war. Mrs. Caruthers was 67 years of age.
