FORMER RESIDENT DEAD
William Hartrick, age 82, died at his home in Bushnell, Ill., Sunday, and was buried there Tuesday. He is survived by his widow, a son Gus and daughter, Miss Cora, of Bushnell, another son, Dr. Fred Hartrick, at Carthage, Ill. and ano her [sic] daughter, Mrs. Lula Black, of Chicago, one brother, Henry Hartrick, of Farmington' [sic] besides nephews and nieces livng [sic] at Farmington and Bushnell.
He came from Germany at the age of 22, and located in Farmington, where he worked for his rother [sic] until fifteen years ago, when the family joined his son Gus, at Bushnell. He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding last spring. During this half century' [sic] there had never been a death in their family.
Sam Hartrick and family, Mrs. Alma Kelley, Henry Hartrick, Ed Hartrick and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Nehans and family all attended the funeral.
Mr. Hartrick was always a kindly man. He attended to his own affairs, and never had a word of ill to say of any one.

I am not related to this person and am posting this obit for those who may find him/her in their family history.
- - -Note: The 1880 Census indicates that William Hartrick, age 29, was living in the household of Andrew Mc Clean, so William's year of birth was about 1851. The 1930 Census lists him as "Villiam Hartrick", age 79, with his wife Louisa age 74, and his daughter Cora age 46, in Bushnell, McDonough county, Illinois - consistent with the obituary information. Given his age, 82, at death, the obituary was published around 1933.
