In the latter years of his lie he was afflicted with a form of paralysis. He was patient through all his suffering, but in his weakened condition he could not long withstand pneumonia. The past two years he had occupied the seat of honor in the Sedgewick Post, G.A.R., at Spokane and the chairs were draped in morning for 30 days.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. church at Spokane, Jany. 17. The pastor, Rev. Dr. Ketcham, chose his text from the 1st Psalm. He was assisted by Miss Bullock of the church of the Truth, also Sedgewick Post G.A.R. Friend of the family, Mrs. Wa??, sang "Lead, Kindly Light," and "Nearer My God, to Thee." The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was at Riverside Park cemetery, a beautiful spot, easy of access. "Verily, a good man is gone," as a friend recently wrote of him. "None could be aught against him."
