HAROLD G. SOWERS

Harold G. Sowers, son of George W. and Della M. Sowers was born in Farmington, Iowa, August 16, 1904, and died in Sacred Heart Hospital, Ft. Madison, April 6, at 5:30 a.m., as the result of an automobile accident, at the age of 33 years, 7 months and 20 days.

He was united in marriage with Miss Doris Sprouse of Croton at Macomb, Ill., Oct. 9, 1934. Mr. Sowers was employed in a Davenport cigar store. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, of Davenport, Iowa.

Surviving are his widow, his mother, Mrs. Della M. Sowers, Ft. Madison, three brothers, Chas. C. Sowers of Quincy, Ill., Ray C. Sowers of Chicago, and Earl B. Sowers of Wyandotte, Mich.; one sister, Miss Louise Sowers of Ft. Madison; two half sisters, Mrs. Claude Knisley(Kinsley) of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. George Miloff of Wyandotte, Mich. His father, George W. Sowers died 27 years ago.

Funeral services were held in the Farmington Methodist Episcopal church Friday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Harvey E. Butler, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Interment in the Green Glade cemetery.

HERALD G. SOWERS

Funeral services for Herald G. Sowers were held Friday afternoon at the Farmington Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. Sterling P. Kerr officiating.

Mr. Sowers was the second victim of an automobile wreck Saturday night, March 26, on Jollyville hill eight miles north of Ft. Madison. He suffered a skull fracture from which he never entirely regained consciousness, and which caused his death Wednesday morning. Mrs. Sowers, who was injured in same wreck, is recovering.

He had been employed for some time as a cigar maker in a factory at Davenport. He was born in Farmington August 16, 1904, and was united in marriage with Doris Sprouse of Croton on October 9, 1934.

Surviving are his wife, his mother, Mrs. Della M. Sowers of Ft. Madison; three brothers, Charles Sowers of Quincy, Ill., Earl B. Sowers of Wyandotte, Mich., and Roy C. Sowers of Chicago; one sister, Miss Louise Sowers of Ft. Madison; and two half sisters, Mrs. George Miloff of Wyandotte, Mich., and Mrs. Claude Kinsley of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
