Elizabeth C. Krogmeier 1920-2016

Elizabeth C. Krogmeier, 96, of Ft. Madison, passed away on November 20, 2016, at the West Point Care Center.

She was born on February 29, 1920, in St. Paul, IA, to Edward and Elizabeth Vantiger Meierotto. On September 6, 1949, she married Leonard S. Krogmeier at St. James Church in St. Paul, IA, and he passed away on July 5, 2000. She was a homemaker and helped her husband for many years on their dairy farm. Elizabeth was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and CLA. Elizabeth loved to work in her gardens. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidering and made rosarys. In her younger years she and Leonard enjoyed traveling. She was a 4-H leader for many years for the Jefferson Jills.

Survivors include her son, Linus (Audrey). Krogmeier of Congerville, IL; three daughters, Rita (Sam) Wenke of Bonaparte, Agnes (David) Borofsky of Wichita, KS, and Evelyn (John) Wenke of Ft. Madison; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; three step-greatgrandchildren; daughter-in-law, Janet Krogmeier of Ft. Madison; two sisters-in-law, Gisela Meierotto of Ft. Madison and Mary Krogmeier of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Adrian, four brothers, one sister; two brothers and a sister in infancy

A rosary was recited and a wake service was held at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory on November 22. The Funeral Mass was held November 23, 2016, at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
