MRS. W.B. BANNING

Funeral services of Mrs. Jennie E. Banning, wife of William B. Banning, were held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 18, at the family home in Union, Nebraska, and were largely attended by old friends from many sections of eastern Nebraska. Rev. T. Porter Bennett, pastor of the Methodist church of Plattsmouth and Union, conducted the services at the home and at the grave. The burial was at Cowles Hill cemetery in Otoe county.

Mrs. Banning was born November 17, 1870, at Douds, Iowa, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Roush. She was married to William B. Banning on September 6, 1899, in Iowa, going to Union, Nebr., shortly after their marriage to make their home.

Mrs. Banning attended Grinnell college, later engaging in office work in Grinnell. She was a member of the Baptist church at Union, also of the Royal Neighbors and Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Hollis S. Banning of Lincoln, Neb.; four brothers, L.J. Roush of Nora, Neb., William A. Roush of Ft. Bliss, Texas, Seth Roush of Jewell, Kansas, Leigh Roush of Montana, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Duckworth of Keosauqua, Iowa, also one grandchild, Barbara Elaine Banning.
