After three years of suffering and heroic efforts to regain her health, near the end of which long period she spent six months in sunny California without benefit, Mrs. Allen Perkins, an excellent woman - good wife and mother - of our community, succumbed to the Grim Reaper.

OBITUARY

Maria Isabelle Boyer, daughter of D. W. and Maria Boyer was born near Big Mound, Lee County, Iowa, November 7, 1856. With her parents she moved in 1866 to Bonaparte township, the[?] settling upon the farm southeast of Bonaparte, known as the Boyer homestead. Deceased came to Bonaparte in 1878, residing here and in this immediate vicinity until her demise. She was married October 14, 1880, to Allen Perkins, and to this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter. The husband and two sons survive.

Mrs. Perkins was the youngest of a family of sixteen children, four daughters and twelve sons. The aged mother, one daughter and nine sons are still living.

The subject of this notice took her departure early Saturday morning, July 28, 1900, having attained the age of 43 years, 8 months and 21 days.

The funeral services occurred from the Presbyterian church of which she was a member, Sunday afternoon, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. George Duty. A large concourse of relatives and friends were in attendance to pay their last tribute of respect.

The burial services were under the auspices of Friendship Camp. No. 134, Royal Neighbors of America, to which order deceased belonged. The following-named Modern Woodmen acted as pallbearers: Phil Eich, L. C. Meek, Chas. Hall, C.S. Percival, J. L. Young and W. C. Page.
