H.O. Murphy

Glenn Murphy of Farmington received a telegram Wednesday, October 30, informing him of the death of his brother, H.O. Murphy, that morning at 9:45. His death came at Wadsworth General hospital in Los Angeles, Calif. where he had been a patient since Dec. 6, 1945 following a stroke. He suffered his first stroke in May, 1942, and was unable to work after that.

The deceased was the son of Frank and Elizabeth Nueman Murphy and was born on the Murphy farm three miles west of Farmington, Jan. 12, 1890, being 56 years, 9 months and 18 days old at the time of his death. He was a veteran of world war I and saw service in France. He was home only three times in the 37 years he lived in the west after going west in 1909.

He was married in 1915 at Salt Lake City, Utah. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Alice Lou Carl, and two grandchildren; one sister, Gertie Murphy of Glendale, Calif., and one brother, Glenn Murphy of Farmington. One brother, Roy, preceded him in death just eight weeks.

Funeral services and burial were held Saturday afternoon at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, just eight blocks from his home.
