MRS. EARL E. PAYNE
Eunice Omie Hales, daughter of John and Margaret Hales was born March 11, 1886, near Mt. Sterling, Iowa, and departed this life October 18, 1946, age 60 years, 7 months and 7 days.
On December 24, 1908 she was married to Earl E. Payne. To this union one son was born, Stanley Payne, Liberty, Mo.
When a young girl she joined the Story Chapel Methodist Church near Mt. Sterling. She lived on a farm in this Iowa community until 1927, when with her family she moved to the vicinity of Excelsior Springs, Mo. From here she moved to the Nebo community where she lived until she passed away.
She is survived by her husband, Earl E. Payne, her son, Stanley Payne of Liberty, Mo., one sister, Mrs. Willa Mize and one brother Robert Hales both of Mt. Sterling, Iowa.
Her fine cheerful character proved to all that knew her that the Lord was her Shepherd. She loved to go to the house of the Lord to worship. She will be missed by her family, relatives, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held at Center Chapel church Monday at 2 o'clock conducted by the pastor, Rev. T. Warren, singing by Keith Gaston accompanied by Ruth Gaston. Interment was in Center Chapel cemetery.
