HERBERT A. SNIDER

The sad news just received by T.M. Clark, 1816 East Kellogg, Wichita, Kansas, from Mrs. Beatrice Noble of Langlois, Oregon, tells of the recent sudden death of her father, Mr. Herbert A. Snider in a hospital in Seattle, Wash.

Mr. Sniders age was 75, he had been in ill health for the last year or two, but was able to be up and around. He had made his home in Seattle for the last several years. He had recently gone to visit in Seattle for the last several years. He had recently gone to visit his daughter, Mrs. Noble, who lives in Oregon. After only a few days there he became ill and was moved by his sons to a hospital in Seattle where he soon passed away.

His wife, father and mother, two elder brothers, and a sister preceded him in death, leaving to mourn their loss one daughter, two or more sons, two sisters, other relatives and a host of friends.

Herbert was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Snider who formerly lived on a farm west of Birmingham, now known as the Carl Freeberg farm in the Bethel church neighborhood. The children all attended school at Eagle District No. 8 in Jefferson county. In later years he went to the Birmingham academy in Birmingham under Professor J.W. Wolf.

In 1890 the family moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where Herbert taught in District school near Cedar Falls. Later he moved to Oregon and then to Seattle where he lived until his death.

He was converted in his early teen years at a revival meeting held by Rev. Haines at the Methodist church in Birmingham. A faithful attendant to church when able to go all these many years of his life.

His funeral was held in the Green Lake funeral parlors in Seattle and burial was in the Evergreen cemetery beside his wife. All of his living children were present at the final services.
