Lucelia W. Lippincott, daughter of W.P. and Malinda F. Lippincott, was born on Christmas day, 1839. Her parents were pioneer people who came to Iowa in an early day and located on Vernon Prairie in Van Buren County.

Most of her life was spent on the home farm, the old Lippincott place that is a land mark of early life on the Prairie. Here she was married on Dec. 11, 1901, to Dr. Charles Pearson, physician and surgeon of Bonaparte; together they spent a number of happy years, the doctor retiring from active life to the farm.

After the death of her husband, she moved to Bonaparte which has been her home until Friday, Dec. 2, after an acute illness of a few weeks, she passed to the life beyond.

Mrs. Pearson had an unusually active mind, being a great reader and student of current events, both local and national. Forced by ill health to spend most of her time at home she nevertheless kept in touch and interested in the outside world. She was religious by nature, conscientiously devoted to her ideals of right living.

Of her own family she has living only one sister, Mrs. W.S. Wagner of Moberly, Mo.

Had Mrs. Pearson lived until Dec. 25, 1927, she would have attained the age of 88 years.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at Story Chapel, Rev. Droz officiating. Interment in Thompson cemetery.
