-On awaking from the night's rest last Sunday morning Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Cox of Vernon township were shocked to find their little girl, Agusta May, dead. She was their only child and had been slightly sick for a few days previous, but was apparently much better and played with the parents before she went to sleep. About midnight the mother gave her some attention and both went to sleep, death coming to the little one sometime between then and morning. It was a terrible affliction to the parents. She was born July 31, 1897, making her age 6 months and 20 days. The funeral was held Monday, Rev. Gilbert of Batavia in charge of the services.

Little Gussy, thou hast left us
In this sad world all alone,
God just needed one more angel,
So he called our darling home.

Thou art gone but not forgotten,
Thy sweet face we oft did see,
Smiling sweetly in the cradle,
Now is in eternity.

Suddenly God sent his Angels,
To pluck off a blossom fair,
Gussy went with him to heaven,
Wait dear one, we'll soon be there.

Then we'll clasp you to our bosom,
Thy sweet smile we long to see,
Then we'll be at home in heaven
Where we'll dwell eternally.
