-Mrs. Elijah Luke, of Keosauqua, was buried Sunday last in the Purdom cemetery, Rev. Tennant preaching the funeral sermon. She died of consumption, and had been a sufferer for several years preceding her death, which came Saturday morning, March 19, 1898. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Eaton. She was born in Henry county, Ill., in 1851 and came to Keosauqua in 1861. She was married to Elijah Luke in 1866, her husband and five children still living, all being at the funeral, and all gave her their kind attention during her prolonged sickness. She was a woman well respected, and besides her family and immediate relatives leaves a number of friends to mourn her death.
