Obituary.

Miss Della Clemens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Clemens of Keosauqua, died of consumption at the home of her parents December 12, 1898, aged 22 years, 1 month and 8 days. The funeral services were held in the Christian church in Keosauqua Tuesday afternoon Dec. 13, Eld. G.A. Hendrickson in charge assisted by Rev. Charles E. Perkins. Eld. Hendrickson preached an impressive sermon, a large audience being present. The remains were taken to the Pittsburg cemetery for interment. The deceased had just reached full womanhood when consumption fastened its hold on her, but she bore her suffering with patience and had only words of kindness and none of complaint for her parents and friends. She was a highly respected young lady, and her death brought sorrow not only to those of her own blood, but to the many who knew her intimately. But she has gone to a better life. The honorary pall bearers were Misses Cora Baker, Keo. Fellows, Mary Burns, Della Prall, Mabel Evans and Bessie Neis, girl friends of the deceased. The pall bearers were Messrs. Frank Davis, Jacob Silvers, Grant Knox, Henry Strickling, Craig Daughrity and Arch Brown.
