EDWARD LEE TOTTEN

Edward Lee Totten, only child of Mrs. Anna Totten, was born in Farmington April 1, 1919, and departed this life Tuesday, August 6, 1935, at 5:15 at his home in Farmington, at the age of 16 years, 4 months and 6 days.

In January, 1932, Edward was converted and united with the Baptist church, being converted during the Scott and Peterson meeting.

He would have been a senior in high school this year and was a member of the basketball squad.

He was a juvenile in the Royal Neighbor lodge. Edward always took a part in the scout work while it was in active work here, and was always ready for all the activities of the organization, both in doors and out.

Edward was of a cheerful disposition, greeting everyone with a smile; and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He was good to help about the house while his mother was trying to make the living.

He leaves to mourn his departure his mother and father, two grandmothers and one grandfather; one uncle, D. J. Behrens of Eldon, Iowa; four aunts, and many more relatives and a host of friends, for he always had friends wherever he was known.

I cannot say, and I will not say
That he is dead--he is just away;
With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand,
He had wandered into an unknown land.

And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be since he is lingering there;
And you--oh you, who the wildest yearn
For the old time step and the glad return

Think of his faring on, as dear
In the love of There, as the love of Here.
Think of him still as the same, I say,
He is not dead--he is just away.

Funeral services were conducted in the home by his pastors, Rev. and Mrs. Wright. Interment at the Farmington cemetery.
