GEORGE B. WALLINGFORD

George Baugher Wallingford, son of Henry and Elizabeth Jane Miller Wallingford, was born Feb. 4, 1889, in Harrisburg township, Van Buren county, Iowa, and passed away Feb. 25, 1942, at the State University hospital in Iowa City at the age of 53 years and 21 days.

He grew to manhood and passed his entire life in the vicinity in which he was born.

On Dec. 20, 1911, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Caroline Schau. to this union two children were born, Mrs. Edith Marie Arnold of Bonaparte, and Donald Richard at home.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, two children, a son-in-law, Ralph D. Arnold; five brothers, Harry and Bernard of Hillsboro; John and Lacy of Bonaparte; and Archie of Glendale, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Still of Farmington and Mrs. Victoria Cazey of Bonaparte; also numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Three sisters, Daisy, who died in infancy; Mrs. Elsie Roberts, and Mrs. Nora Tuttle, a brother, William, and both parents preceded him in death.

He was a devoted husband and father, a good neighbor and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.

His health had been failing for almost three years but he had been seriously ill for about three weeks.

On Dec. 17, 1914, he united with the Methodist church at Big Mound and was a faithful worker in church activities as long as his health permitted.

Funeral services were held at Big Mound Methodist church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by the pastor, Rev. Arthur E. Brent. Interment was in Vale cemetery.
