Death of George Miller.

At half past 12 o'clock Tuesday morning, Jan. 3, 1899, death came and claimed one of our best citizens, Mr. George Miller, near Leando. Mr. Miller had been sick for 10 weeks with typhoid fever. And although suffering great pain he bore his sickness patiently waiting summons of the call which we all will hear.

He was born April 22, 1830 in Columbiana county, Ohio. He was united in marriage with Eliza Maria McKinney in 1855. To them were born 11 children, 9 still living.

He united with the M.E. church 45 years ago. He was a peaceable, loyal and patriotic citizen in his dealings with men. His character was irreproachable, his manners were firm and plain. We all miss him. He will be missed in the home, missed in the community. We miss him and mourn his departure, but we are rejoiced in the hope of a glorious immortality.

As a sheaf of grain ripe and ready for the harvest by death he was gathered to his home.

Let us be comforted in this that he has entered into the rest prepared for them that love Christ. And let us be grateful that God has spared him with us all these years.

"Mark the perfect man and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace."

the funeral services were conducted at his home near Leando, Jan. 5, by Rev. B.F. Shane, his pastor. The remains were followed by a large concourse of friends to his last resting place in the Leando cemetery to await the resurrection morning.
