Worthy F. Proper 1916-2016

Worthy F. Proper of Vista, CA, died June 15, 2016, at 99 years of age. He was the son of Don H. and Clara Proper, and was born in Bonaparte, IA, on December 15, 1916.

He is survived by his son, Don Proper, and his wife Valerie, one granddaughter, Rachel, three sisters, Irene Burns of Muscatine, IA, Virginia Troutman of Farmington, IA, Wannabelle Nosier, Muscatine IA, two brothers, Carl R. Proper, Donnellson, IA, and Don H. Proper of Canton, IL, and also four stepchildren.

Worthy, grew up in Harrisburg township. He graduated from Bonaparte High School. He retired from the navy as a Lieutenant Commander after serving 23 years. Preceding him in death were his wife Nancy, son, Barry, sister, Dorothy Morgan, one niece, Carol Burns Nickerson, and one nephew, Ronald D. Nosier.

A memorial service was held July 7, 2016, at Arcadia Place, Vista, CA. His ashes will be placed at Riverside Military memorial cemetery in Riverside, CA, on September 22, 2016.
