FORMER CITIZEN KILLED
Addison McIntosh Accidentally Shot.

WHILE CLIMBING OVER FENCE
Leaves Many Relatives Here - Went to California Ten Years Ago.

A telegram received by the relatives Sunday from Bakersfield, Cal, brought the sad news of the sudden death of Addison McIntosh, formerly of this vicinity. Another telegram received Monday contained the further information that Mr. McIntosh met his death from a gun shot wound in the right temple as he was climbing over a fence, and that the funeral would be held Wednesday. Nothing further was heard concerning the sad event up to yesterday (Friday) morning, although a letter was expected by every mail.

Addison was born in Henry township, this county, 49 years ago. He was a brother of John W. McIntosh and Mrs. George Matheson, who live about three miles southeast of Keosauqua, and also of Mrs. George Barker of Washington township and of Mrs. D.P. Newman of Mountain View, Cal., and a son-in-law of A.C. Barker of Mt. Zion. He leaves a widow and five children.

Addison moved to Bakersfield about ten years ago. He was one of the most popular and highly respected young men in this section. The sad news of his untimely death was received everywhere with regret.
