AN APPALLING FATALITY
Young Child Dies in Burning Barn

One of the most distressing fatalities occurred at Milton Tuesday afternoon that we ever had to record. Briefly stated, Paul, the four year old son of Dr. and Mrs. Curtis McClurg of Milton, was burned in a barn belonging to Mr. J.E. Spence. It seems that the child went to the barn, which was only a short distance from the McClurg home, and, while playing in the loft, set it on fire. Almost as soon as the flames were discovered the child was missed. Mr. Linaberry went up on the outside of the barn with a ladder and could see the child in the flames, but he could not be rescued. A part of the charred body was recovered. It was an appalling calamity and a fearful blow to the fond parents.
