DIED AT HOSPITAL
William Reed of Pittsburg Passed Away at Mt. Pleasant Friday.

William Reed of Pittsburg, who was several weeks ago taken to the hospital for the insane at Mt. Pleasant died Friday afternoon. The remains were brought back to his late home and the funeral was held Saturday, Rev. J.W. Carson conducting the services. Mr. Carson furnished the Democrat with the following biographical sketch of the deceased:

George William Reed was born the 4th day of September, 1866, near Pittsburg, Van Buren county, Iowa, and died August 17, 1906, at the age of 39 years 11 months and 13 days. He was a member of the Methodist church at Pittsburg and as long as he was able he attended the Sunday school and church, and was also a member of the Odd Fellows, Gold Leaf Lodge No. 599, Des Moines, Iowa; and through all his sickness he never murmured or complained.

He leaves a mother, one brother and one sister to mourn his loss.

The funeral was held at the home Saturday at 3 p.m. A host of neighbors and friends were present to assist and comfort the family. Keosauqua I.O.O.F. took charge at the grave. May God sustain the afflicted mother and brother and sister.
