Obituary.

Lily Haney Holland, daughter of Mr. Thomas Haney, county auditor, died suddenly and unexpectedly at this place Friday last. She was born in Village township, February 28, 1873, and lived on a farm until 14 years of age, then her parents moved to Milton High school in the spring 1891. Later took a course in elocution in the Southern Normal school at Bloomfield. She was apt in the art of painting, doing a great deal both in crayon and in oil. Married to C.H. Holland Aug. 14, 1895. Mr. Holland is preparing himself for the ministry and Lily was in sympathy of his work. She was a member of the M.E. church and had been for a number of years. She was buried at Milton, Iowa, on Saturday where the funeral services were held, Rev. J.W. Potter preaching the funeral sermon. The esteem and respect in which Lily was held by her friends were demonstrated by the large concourse who gathered at the church to pay the last tribute.
