Mrs. Mary Howell.

Last week Mr. Francis Johnston received news of the death of his niece, Mrs. Mary Howell, nee Johnston, of Kansas City. Mrs. Howell lived with Mr. Johnston while he was sheriff of this county, and will be remembered well by the older portion of our community, by whom she was highly esteemed. She was born Aug. 23, 1853. She leaves a sister and three daughters, one of the latter being married. Her death occurred on the 3d, being caused by cancer, and she was buried on Sunday the 4th, inst.

The waking from a weary night
Of fevers unto truth and light."
