-Mrs. V.M. Brewington, a former resident of Keosauqua, died at Keokuk Thursday, aged 78 years. Mrs. Brewington was born in North Carolina in 1831. She lived in North Carolina during her early life, but came to Keosauqua about 50 years ago, where she resided until about 1885, when she removed to Keokuk. She was twice married, her first husband being W.M. Edwards and her second Levi Brewington, formerly of Keosauqua, who died several years ago. Mrs. Brewington was a sister of the late Mrs. J.M. Beer, and an aunt of Walter Beer of this place. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A.C. Huffman and Mrs. Carried Vanderhayden of Keokuk and a son, Harvey Edwards of Hope, Kan. The interment took place here Friday, the remains being accompanied from Keokuk by Mr. and Mrs. Huffman, Mrs. Vanderhayden and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beer. The funeral was held at the Christian church. Mrs. Brewington was a good woman, enjoying the respect and regard of all who knew her.
