Vale R. Winslow, 87, formerly of Bonaparte, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 1991, at the Dows Care Center in Dows, Iowa.

Born Jan. 25, 1904, in Bonaparte, she was the daughter of Albert G. and Margaret Vale Roberts. She married Robert W. Winslow April 1, 1930, in Bonaparte. He died in 1967.

She was a graduate of the Bonaparte High School and Parsons College. She taught mathematics and science in Keosauqua, Bonaparte and Harmony high schools and operated Winslow's Store in Bonaparte.

She was a member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church, Chapter AB of PEO in Bonaparte, the Van Buren County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and the Iowa and National Education Associations.

Surviving is one daughter, Anne McIntire of Dows.

Friends may call as they desire after noon Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

The service for Mrs. Winslow will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bonaparte United Church with the Rev. Fred Malone officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery, north of Bonaparte.
