EARL SIMMONS

Robert Earl Simmons, 56 year old farmer of the Bonaparte vicinity, died Oct. 3 in Van Buren County hospital. Death terminated a long illness.

A life resident of Van Buren county, Simmons was born April 11, 1888, the son of Robert and Agnes Bachelor(sp) Simmons. On Jan. 19, 1918, he married Edna Marie Rabe. He was a member of the Christian church of Mt. Sterling and of Masonic lodge No. 7; Lafayette chapter 61 RAM, and the OES, all of Bonaparte.

Surviving are his wife and a son and three daughters: Karl Simmons, Chicago; Ruth Skeens, New London; Mrs. Carol Rinaberger, Keosauqua, and Evelyn Simmons, at home.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Kate Anson, Keosauqua, and four grandchildren.

Last rites will be held at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John G. Ballensky, pastor of the Keosauqua Christian church, will officiate and burial will be in Thompson cemetery, near Bonaparte.
