Juanita G. Helling

Juanita G. Helling, 79, a resident of the Fort Madison Nursing Care Center, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the center. She had been seriously ill two days.

A long-time resident of Fort Madison, Mrs. Helling was born Jan. 29, 1912, at Bentonsport. She was a retired admissions clerk at the former Sacred Heart Hospital with 20 years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and RSVP.

On April 14, 1936, in Fort Madison, she was married to Philip M. Helling, who died May 23, 1986.

Surviving are a son, James G. of Fort Madison; a sister, Leona Kerr, Needles, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Her parents were Theodore and Marie Strich Gaston.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Robert Amborn will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

The body is at the King-Lynk Funeral Home where friends may call as they desire, where the family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today and where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.

A memorial is being established with Sacred Heart Church. Contributions may be made at the King-Lynk Funeral Home.
