Mrs. Anna Johannah Gaston, 82, resident of Fort Madison for more than half a century, died at her home 215 Avenue G at 9:10 p.m. Saturday. she had been in failing health for the last three years but had been seriously ill only one day.

She was born March 16, 1858 in Vernon, Iowa. She was married to Charles Gaston April 19, 1876 in Switzerland county, Iowa. The couple moved to Ft. Madison in 1887. Her husband preceded her in death March 30, 1924.

She was a member of the First Methodist church.

Survivors include: three sons, Floyd A. Gaston, Glenn Gaston and Charles Gaston, all of Fort Madison; four grandchildren, Richard K. Gaston, John William Gaston, Herbert Lee Gaston of Fort Madison and Robert E. Gaston of Grundy Center; three great grandchildren Richard K. Gaston, Jr., and Bonne Lee Gaston of Fort Madison and Robert E., Jr., of Grundy Center; one brother, Charles W. Gaston of this city. A son Beryl Gaston preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning in Clements chapel with the Rev. Robert Swick officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
