MAUDE WORKMAN SHEROD

Maude Workman Sherod, daughter of Girard and Emma Huber Workman, was born south of Stockport, Iowa on the 28 of July, 1882 and passed away at her home in Keosauqua, Iowa on Aug. 23, 1954 at the age of 72 years and 26 days.

She was married to Craige Sherod on Dec 11, 1902 at Birmingham, Iowa. To this union were born fie children, three dying in infancy. Surviving are her husband, Criage of Keosauqua; a daughter, Elizabeth Wallace and husband, Charles, of near Stockport; a son, Jack Sherod and wife, Betty, of Mt. Sterling, and three grandchildren, Sheila Kay, Mary Ann and Richard Craige Sherod; two brothers, Fred Workman of Birmingham and Rex Workman of Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Archibald of Ottumwa and Mrs. Mable Hickey of Bloomfield as well as nephews and nieces.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Ralph and Clyde Workman, and a sister, Mrs. Helen Williams.

She loved her home and she shared it unselfishly with Glenn, Thad, Berneice and Marion, to whom she gave a mother's love. Her entire life was lived in Van Buren county where she leaves a host of friends and relatives. To know her was to love her.

Last rites were held in the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, with the Rev. Howard C. Irvine, pastor of the Birmingham Presbyterian church. Burial in Pittsburg cemetery.
