Emery Alexander
Emery Alexander, 73, who lives two miles southeast of Salem, was found by the side of the road near the Cummings farm about a half mile east of Salem at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by Richard McCabe and his grandmother, Mrs. Hensell, who were returning to their home in Hillsboro from Burlington, Iowa. With the help of Albert Cammack Mr. Alexander was brought to a doctor's office in Salem, where he died in a few minutes. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was unconscious when found.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife and 11 children: Arthur Alexander, Wyaconda, Mo.; Wiley Alexander, Mt. Sterling, Iowa; Mrs. Herbert Thomas, Milton; Leonard Alexander, Geneseo, Ill.; Danley Alexander, Galesburg, Ill.; G.E. Alexander, Granger, Mo.; Roy Alexander, Salem; Mrs. Foster Brewer, Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. John Scott, Keosauqua; Miss Mae Alexander, Salem, and Neal Alexander, Davenport.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Cantril at 11 o'clock Friday morning with burial in Cantril cemetery.
