Virginia D. Belmont, 76, of Greentop, Mo., died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 1991, at the Schuyler County Nursing Home, Queen City, Mo.

Born Feb. 28, 1914, in Harrison, Ark., she was the daughter of Jim and Willie Cook Gallager.

Surviving are her husband, William; three sons, Donnie J. Davis, Chillicothe, Mo., and Willis C. Davis and Jim Davis, both of Morriston, Ark.; two daughters, Neva Cocherell, Nicholasville, Ky., and Velma Whitman, Burlington; one sister, Ruby Matheny, Keokuk; one brother, Paul Gallager, Harrison, Ark.; two stepbrothers, Herrell McAlister, Harrison, Ark., and Gladous McAlister, Yakima, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.

The graveside service for Mrs. Belmont was held this morning in the Green Glades Cemetery at Farmington with the Rev. Bob Hambrite officiating.

Hudson-Rimer Park View Chapel in Kirksville, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
