At 8:15 A.M. Friday, Nov 24, 1922 occurred the death of Mrs. Ida Ripley at her home northeast of Selma, Iowa. It came as a shock to her many friends as she was apparently in good health the day before and was transacting business in town. Her husband, Henry C. Ripley, passed away Oct. 26, 1922 and his death was a great sorrow to her. It was hard for her to become reconciled to his going away for the two lives blended together in harmony, always sharing their sorrows and joys down to the end of life.

Ida, a daughter of Jacob A. and Sarah D. Seiver, was born August 20, 1861, aged 61 years, 3 months and 4 days. Her marriage took place in Muscatine, Iowa, Sept. 15, 1885. To their union six children were born, Dow of Buffalo Prairie, Ill.; Mrs. Florence Campbell of Selma, Iowa; Clair of Eldon, Iowa; and Willis at home. Two sons, Henry and Jacob, preceded her in death. During her life, she was always thoughtful of her husband, children, and neighbors, forgetting herself and making it pleasant for them. She will be sadly missed in the neighborhood where she resided. One brother, J.W. Seivers of Aledo, Ill, and one sister, Mrs. Martin Stinson, of Muscatine, Iowa, survive. A brief service was held Saturday afternoon for her friends here at home, and conducted by Rev. Russell Bevier. Interment was made in the family lot in a cemetery a short distance from Muscatine.
