Charles William McLaughlin son of John Hannah McLaughlin, was born in Ellen County Indiana, October 28, 1860 and died in Farmington on February 19, 1914 aged 53 years 3 months and 21 days.
He came to this county with his parents when he was five years old and always made his home in this county except the one and one half years he lived at Pulaski in Davis County.
He was married to Miss Mary W. Heath January 6, 1887, to which union there was born one child, Virgil Belle. Aside from wife and daughter he leaves three sisters, Mariah Quachbenbach of Ossian, Indiana, Ann Parks of Mt. Sterling and Mary Chaplain of Troy and a great number of relatives and friends.
Charlie never united with any church, but was a believer in the church and in the Christ of the church.
He was a good neighbor, ever ready to cease his own work if the neighbor was in need.
He was a loving father, thoughtful husband and a kind neighbor. The last sad rights were performed at Agasto (?) Church, his brother-in-law Rev. C.L. Tenant of Mt. Pleasant conducting the services.
