Mr. and Mrs. N. Boley

The double funeral of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Boley was held from the Baptist Church, of which they had been members for more than fifty years, Sunday morning at 11 o’clock conducted by Rev. C.S. Carroll. It was estimated that about six hundred people attended the service.

Aunt Hannah had been afflicted with rheumatism for many years and at times was nearly helpless. About a week previous to her death, grippe and its complications set in and Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Boley were taken to the home of their daughter, Mrs. L.A. Runyon, for better care. After several days of suffering the final summons came for Mrs. Boley and early Thursday morning she passed to the great beyond. Mr. Boley who had been afflicted with pneumonia for several days was in a critical condition and the call for him came thirty hours later, and he and his companion of fifty-eight years in life, were companions in death and were laid in the same grave. The doubly stricken family has the sympathy of the entire community. Aunt Hanna’s familiar presence will be missed in the home, church and neighborhood, and Daddy Boley’s, as all lovingly called him, happy nature, jolly good humor, his gentle patience, and sunny smile will long be remembered. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances, and the immediate family will lovingly and tenderly think of him as father and mother too.
