Sheryl A. Tipton, 67, of Keosauqua, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at home.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Sheryl A. Tipton

Sheryl A. Tipton, 67, of Keosauqua, died Wednesday, May 28, at home.

A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Keosauqua Christian Church, with Woody Watson officiating.

Visitation is from 10-11 a.m., an hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials to Keosauqua Public Library may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 501 Louis St., Keosauqua 52565.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua handled cremation.

Mrs. Tipton was born Dec. 16, 1946, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Gilbert Ivalee Lamb Jarvis. She married Ronald Tipton Feb. 14, 1969, in Lakewood, Colorado.

She grew up in Bloomfield and graduated from Davis County Community School.

She moved to Colorado after high school and worked for Montgomery Ward for 10 years before moving to Van Buren County 1983, where she worked at Douds Elementary School library and Barker LTD before retiring in 2009.

She was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church since 1984.

She enjoyed reading, photography, genealogy, making all kinds of crafts, spending time with her grandsons, family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald of Keosauqua; one son, Andrew Tipton of Marion; one daughter, Katie DeShane and spouse Matt of Keosauqua; three grandsons; her father, Gilbert Jarvis of Ottumwa; and two brothers, Kerry Jarvis of Colorado and Kevin Jarvis of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
