MRS. SARAH BARNETT

Mrs. Sarah E. Smith Barnett was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Feb. 15, 1840. She departed this life Jan. 28, 1933, at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 13 days. She was united in marriage to Henry C. Shearer in 1864, who preceded her in death May 23, 1903. To this union was born one son, Calvin C. Shearer.

She was united in marriage to L.A. Barnett in December 1904. She and Mr. Barnett lived in Florida until 1923. They then moved to Mountain Home, Ark., and lived near her son, Calvin Shearer. They then moved to Farmington in November 1925. Here they made their home until July 1932. At this time they moved to Marshalltown where they have since lived.

She united with the Baptist church of Farmington as soon as they moved here and remained a member until the last.

With the aid of her nephew, Aldin Chapin, she was able to do her own work until the last two years.

She leaves to mourn her departure her aged husband, one son, Calivin Shearer; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was buried in the Farmington cemetery Jan. 30, 1933. The services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.V. Wright.
