Doris Darlene Schilb, 76, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Services are pending at Behner Funeral Home.

Doris Darlene Schilb

Doris Darlene Schilb, 76, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jessica Rockhold Gaul officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery, northeast of Stockport.

Visitation for family and friends is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family or Hope Lodge of Iowa City. Memorials and cards can be sent to 24501 115th St., Birmingham 52535.

Mrs. Schilb was born Nov. 22, 1936, the daughter of Henry Warren and Waunita Maxine Loving Smith in Stockport. She married Lester Roy Schilb in Stockport Jan. 1, 1958, in Burlington. He died June 9, 2005.

She was raised and lived most of her life in Jefferson County.

She was a homemaker and sold Amway and Tupperware.

In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, gardening, fishing and watching baseball and car racing.

She belonged to the Northside Strippers Quilt Club, Golden Threads, Hawkeye Heritage Quilter's Guild and Iowa Feed Sack Club.

Survivors include two sons, Steven D. Smith and spouse Julie of Agency and Jeffrey L. Schilb and spouse Kimberly of Birmingham; three daughters, Glenda R. White of Fairfield, Linda K. Hammes of Carrizozo, N.M., and Roxie S. Brown of Auburndale, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Richard H. Smith, Roxie E. Smith and Roger D. Smith.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raymond N. Smith.
