Obituary of Mrs. R.P. Ramsey.

Sarah Jane Ranard, daughter of Wm. and Martha Ranard, was born in Lick Creek township, Van Buren county, Iowa, July 26, 1851, and died at the family home, at 3027 Dalton Ave., Los Angeles, Calif., at 7 o'clock, p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2nd, 1923.

October 4, 1876, she was married to Ralph P. Ramsey and to them three children were born, Edwin F. Ramsey 1405 1/2 Wright Street, Los Angeles, Calif.; Fanny who died in infancy, and Bertha Grace (Mrs. Alfred Kenyon). Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn their loss, a grandchild Mabel, daughter of Edwin F. Ramsey, her son-in-law Alfred Kenyon, also many other relatives and friends.

She had a paralytic stroke at 3 o'clock, a.m., August 30th and became unconscious two hours later, and with all that medical skill could do, she remained unconscious to the end.

Funeral services were held at the Chapel of the Ruppe Mortuary, 842 So. Figueroa street, Los Angeles, conducted by Dr. Ray Moore, formerly of Birmingham and Keosauqua, and who is an old prized friend of the family.

The casket was banked with floral tributes, from the many good and true friends of the deceased. Burial was in the family plot, in the I.O.O.F. cemetery on Whittier Blvd., Los Angeles.
