Thomas I. Williams

Services for Thomas Irving Williams, 87, were held Tuesday, March 22 at 2:30 p.m. at the Birmingham Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Ora Reep. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.

Williams died Saturday March 19 at Van Buren Memorial hospital in Keosauqua where he had been a patient for 10 days. Most of his life was spent in Van Buren County.

Williams was born Nov. 25, 1878 near Birmingham, the son of Thomas Lewis and Mary Christina Hootman Williams. He was married to Blanche Gall Jan. 8, 1903. She preceded him in death Nov. 3, 1964.

Surviving are nine children: Lester and Arthur Williams, both of Birmingham; Robert Williams, Keosauqua; Mrs. Lucille Doughty, Agency; Mrs. Marjory Gould, Richland; Mrs. Faye Dooley, Amarillo, Tex.; Mrs. Beryl Kerr, Douds; Mrs. Beulah Phillips, Keosauqua and Mrs. Marie Kurka, Eldon.

Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Buckmaster of Thomas City, Colo. and one brother, Floyd Williams of Birmingham.

He was a member of the Birmingham of the Birmingham Methodist church.
